Farooq Muzaffar is the chief strategy and marketing officer for Xerox. He joined the company and was named a senior vice president of the corporation on Jan. 4, 2017.

In this role, Farooq is responsible for developing Xerox’s strategy and leading corporate business development. He also leads the company’s overall marketing efforts, including evolving the Xerox brand narrative and deploying communications and engagement activities that elevate the understanding of the company’s mission and strategy among its stakeholders. Farooq is also responsible for the strategic relationship with FujiFilm Holdings and FujiXerox.

Prior to Xerox, Farooq spent over a decade in executive positions at Verizon, where he helped drive the company’s Internet of Things strategy including multi-billion dollar investments in connected transportation. He also served as chief technology officer for Verizon Enterprise Solutions where he was responsible for data networking and IP communication services. Prior to his Verizon work, Farooq was an investment banker in technology, media and telecom at Goldman Sachs, leading mergers and acquisitions in the software sector.

Farooq is a former McKinsey Scholar, earning his Master of Business Administration degree from MIT Sloan School of Management and bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
